Heard Saturday at 1 p.m. on KMJ 580
August 22, 2009:  George Heimbuch - 5th Air Base Group.
George was in the Philippines before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. He
was captured by the Japanese on Mother's Day, 1942, and remained a prisoner
of war for more than three years. Separated from his brother, Ray, he would
enjoy a unique reunion with him after they were both liberated. Listen to the
broadcast to hear George tell that story, as well as many others about how he
managed to survive. You'll also hear which famous sportscaster he once
babysat in Montana.
